Jacie Coari pleads guilty to 2011 Auxvasse murders

A 31-year-old woman pleaded guilty Tuesday afternoon in Boone County to her role in the gruesome murders of an Auxvasse man and his daughter in September 2011.

Jacie Coari had been charged with two counts of second degree murder and one count of first degree robbery. Today, she pleaded guilty to two counts of second degree murder and one count of attempted first degree robbery, and Judge Kevin Crane sentenced her to ten years in prison.

Jacie Coari admitted on the witness stand to driving her husband to County Road 1027 on September 1, 2011. Ryan Coari then broke into the home of Michael Wieberg, shooting and killing him and his adult daughter, Amanda. After setting the place on fire, Ryan Coari then got back into the car with Jacie.

Callaway County sheriff’s deputies eventually found the two in Michigan later that month, the home state of Jacie Coari.

While she did not commit the murders herself, Coari still received charges of robbery and second-degree murder for working as an accomplice in the crime.

32-year-old Ryan Coari is currently serving a life sentence, after he pleaded guilty in May 2014 to two counts of first degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and arson. Ryan Coari was given two life sentences for the murders and two 30-year sentences for armed criminal action.

Ryan Coari is currently incarcerated at the maximum-security Crossroads Correctional Center in Cameron.

Prosecutors say the bodies of the victims were found in the rubble of their burned home in the Auxvasse area.
