Tracking an end to the heat, finally

sweltering
KMIZ

THURSDAY: Another hot one! Temperatures will push into the middle 90's once again with a heat index in the 105-108 range. A cold front approaching the area will trigger some storms north of the area. Those look to move in during the early evening hours. At least initially, they'll be capable of producing some damaging winds.

TONIGHT: We'll keep the storms with us overnight, but likely back off the intensity a bit. Lows will stay in the low to mid 70's.

EXTENDED: Showers and storms will be on their way out by midday Friday. With clouds filtering out of the region for the rest of the day, temperatures will only top out in the middle 80's. That trend looks to hold for the weekend, but we'll be able to add the sunshine back in. Highs will stay in the middle 80's into the first part of next week, with the humidity staying tolerable. Winds will turn out of a more southerly direction toward the middle of next week, slowly bringing back humidity and warmer temperatures. Nothing out of hand, with the upper 80's returning by the middle of next week.
