ABC 17 News first reported on a weekend deck collapse at a Lake of the Ozarks on Monday after a band member sent us this video of the incident.

ABC 17 News reached out to Shady Gators on Monday, who said no one was hurt when the deck collapsed.

The Lake Ozark Fire Protection District told ABC 17 News Wednesday that it was unofficially informed of the incident Sunday morning, meaning there was no 911 call when the incident happened.

Fire officials inspected the business on Tuesday to review what happened and to determine when the deck could be used again.

Officials with the fire district said they will be overseeing the repair of the deck.

“It is in the utmost importance of the Lake Ozark Fire Protection District to have our businesses safe for the community and the visitors in the area,” said Assistant Chief Matt Birdsley.

Occupancy loads on outdoor structures have several variations including what the supporting structure is made of, what the flooring is made of, if there is a roof or covering over the area, and the height of the structure from the ground.
