Boone County inmate facing possible charges for spitting on officer

A Boone County Jail corrections officer has been released from the hospital after an inmate reportedly spit on the officer.

Timothy banks reportedly spit on a corrections officer Friday night, Sgt. James Perkins with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department said.

The officer was hit in a sensitive area and went to the hospital, Perkins said. The officer has since been treated and released.

Banks was charged for a similar incident in June.

Endangering a correctional employee, visitor or another offender by attempting to cause a person to come in contact with bodily fluids is a felony in Missouri.
