Tracking more heat and humidity this afternoon

hot again
KMIZ

WEDNESDAY: It's another hot, humid day getting into this afternoon. Temperatures will once again top out in the middle 90's with a steady southwesterly breeze. That breeze will keep the humidity up, pushing the heat index into the 105-108 range again. Can't rule out a stray shower or storm throughout the day.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy skies and humid conditions will keep us warm again overnight. Lows will only cool off into the mid to upper 70's.

EXTENDED: A stationary boundary that has been locked up in Iowa and Illinois will finally get a move on Thursday and Friday. We'll likely stay dry until late Thursday as the front moves through. As slow as it's moving, Thursday afternoon looks like another steamy one with highs in the 90's and a heat index well into the triple digits. Scattered showers and storms will be possible late in the day Thursday through Friday but should clear by the weekend. Temperatures will be much more comfortable on the other side of the boundary, in the mid to upper 80's. The humidity will be much more manageable as well, even getting into the start of next week.
