Storms Sunday night, drier week ahead

Storms are expected to develop ahead of a cold front from midnight through early morning Monday. They will develop along and south of I-70 and track to the east-southeast through the overnight hours, moving out of Mid-Missouri by mid-morning. There is a chance of a few showers developing into the afternoon Monday but most of the rain will end early.

Overnight storms could bring heavy rain with up to 2 inches of rain possible. The severe threat is low overnight but storms with isolated strong wind gusts are possible.

High pressure will build over the area Monday night bringing dry weather for the rest of the work week along with below average temperatures. Nights will drop into the low to mid 60s and days will stay in the low to mid 80s through Thursday. We will start heating up Friday and into next weekend.
