Storms are expected to develop near the Iowa border Saturday late-afternoon and will move to the east-southeast, possibly affecting areas north of I-70 Saturday evening. There is a severe threat with these storms, primarily damaging winds up to 60 mph but large hail is also possible.
After a chance of morning showers & t-storms Sunday north of I-70, temperatures will heat up to near 90 north and into the low to mid 90s south of I-70 in the afternoon under partly cloudy skies. Heat indices will climb as high as 108 at the Lake of the Ozarks and western Missouri.
A cold front will move across the area Sunday night. Out ahead of this front, spotty, strong storms are possible Sunday afternoon which will increase Sunday night as the front pushes south.
