Candlelight vigil for 13-year-old crash victim

A candlelight vigil is planned for a 13-year-old girl who was killed by a wrong-way driver over the weekend northeast of Jefferson City.

The accident killed Meggan Fowler and two other teens, along with the other driver on Highway 54 in Holts Summit Saturday night. The crash happened just a few minutes before midnight about a mile west of Center Street.

The vigil was held Wednesday at the New Bloomfield Middle School-High School, where Fowler went to school.

The community is going to sell T-shirts in order to help the family with funeral expenses.

Another memorial for Meggan is at Lifehouse Church in New Bloomfield starting at 630 p.m. on Friday. That will be followed by a separate memorial for the two other victims, 17-year-old Miriah McDaniel and 17-year-old Elizabeth Moses, starting at 7 p.m. at Jefferson City High School.
