Our break from the heat and humidity will end Friday as a warm front moves through bringing temperatures up into the low to mid 90s through the weekend. We will have storm chances as we head into the weekend with the best chance Sunday.

There is a chance of a spot t-storm Thursday late in the day mainly south of I-70. Most areas will stay dry Thursday with high temperatures in the mid 80s. Heading into Friday, storms are expected to move into western Missouri along a warm front early Friday morning with the best chance of storms west of HWY 63. Heat and humidity return Friday as daytime temperatures climb to the low 90s and heat indices as high as 103.

Storm development is expected late Friday night in northeastern Kansas where a narrow band of strong low level winds intersects the warm front. These storms will track to the southeast and weaken as they move into northern Missouri bringing a chance of rain as far south as I-70 through noon Saturday. Areas farther south will stay dry and hot Saturday.

Storms are expected to develop late Saturday night ahead of a cold front in southern Iowa and northern Missouri and track southeast into Mid-Missouri Sunday morning. These could track farther south, affecting areas along and east of HWY 63 early Sunday with additional spotty storms possible in the late afternoon and evening Sunday in all of Mid-Missouri.
