Fundraisers still planned for boy who died of inoperable tumor

ABC 17 News has confirmed a young boy with an inoperable brain tumor has passed away.

ABC 17 News first reported on 4-year-old Bryson Smith back in March.

Doctors found an inoperable brain tumor in October and gave Bryson 6 to 12 months to live.

Unfortunately he passed away early Wednesday morning.

We were there when community members held a prayer vigil for Bryson in early June.

At least two other events are still scheduled to help support Bryson and his family.

On Thursday, Texas Roadhouse will be donating 10% of their food purchases to Bryson and his mother.

Also, on August 4, all proceeds from the “All for the Love and Passion” charity fashion and corvette show will go to Bryson and his family. That will be held at the Broadway Hotel in Columbia starting at 6:00 p.m.
