Man arrested following manhunt in north Columbia

A manhunt for a possible burglary suspect is over in north Columbia.

A suspect police were questioning at the scene was arrested after his car was found at the scene.

Police took 51-year-old Chandler Bratton into custody for second degree burglary and property damage.

Shortly after 10:00 Wednesday morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Boone County Sheriff’s deputies were seen near Flurry and Silver Mill Drive.

Deputies said ahomeowner entered their home on Jasmine Way and found some of their belongings moved around and missing.

The homeowner then saw the suspect take off through the back window where they believe he broke in.

Officials said the house is currently under construction.

ABC 17 News saw the K-9 unit found a scent behind the home and followed it a street over to Silver Mill Drive. The K-9 later lost the scent.

A helicopter and plane were also seen flying over the neighborhood during the manhunt.
