Court appearance pushed back for woman accused of killing roommate

A Mid-Missouri judge has pushed back a court appearance for a Hermann woman charged with killing her roommate.

54-year-old Karen Brinkley is charged with second degree murder in the death of 64-year-old Marion Gerloff.

She was scheduled to be arraigned in Gasconade County Wednesday, but the appearance was pushed back a week at the request of her public defender.

Court documents claim Brinkley strangled Gerloff.

Investigators think it happened more than 4 months ago, and believe her remains were kept in a wooden box.
