Storm chance Wednesday, severe storms possible

A warm front in southwestern Missouri is forecast to lift to the northeast and move through Mid-Missouri early in the morning Thursday. Spotty storms are expected to develop ahead of the front in the warm, humid air Wednesday late afternoon and evening in western Missouri, gradually shifting to the east and north overnight.

Isolated severe storms are possible through Wednesday evening with damaging winds of 60 mph and large hail the main threats with a much smaller chance of a tornado. These will affect mainly areas west of HWY 63 through midnight then shift to the east and north through early Thursday morning.
