Cooling centers open in Mid-Missouri during extreme heat

Temperatures in Mid-Missouri are going to be dangerously hot again Tuesday.

ABC 17’s Stormtrack Meteorologist Brittany Beggs said it will be in the mid 90’s and the heat index will reach 105.

While the heat continues to rise, cooling centers in Boone County are opening their doors for people.

The cooling center’s are open during normal business hours and public areas are open to anyone who wants to come inside and beat the heat.

Here’s a list of cooling centers in Columbia.

Health officials warn those most likely to suffer from heat related health issues are the young and elderly.
