Woman arrested after crashing car into Boone County home

An elderly woman is out of her home in Boone County after a car drove through it Saturday afternoon.

It happened just before 4 p.m. in the 6600 block of Gateway Boulevard.

Fire crews said an SUV left the roadway on Route K and ran into the garage of the home, then went through the kitchen.

The driver then tried to back out of the home and tore down the wall.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Sunday Abby Schade, 23 of Columbia was the driver of the car.

She was arrested after the crash for DWI.

Schade has since bonded out of the Boone County Jail.

Crews said no one was injured, but the home is uninhabitable.
