Governor to speak at school administrators’ conference as many districts return this month

LAKE OZARK, Mo. (KMIZ)

Gov. Mike Parson plans to speak at the Annual Cooperative Conference for School Administrators in Lake Ozark as students and staff prepare for the start of the school year.

Tuesday's closing remarks from Parson come a day after the keynote speaker, Manny Scott, spoke on the challenges students have faced during the pandemic, and how educational leaders should help.

The CDC recently announced the new guidelines for schools returning to the classroom, including universal masks indoors for students, staff, faculty, and visitors, no matter their vaccination status.

State Commissioner Margie Vandeven will also speak at the conference Tuesday.

The closing general session is set to start at 8 a.m. and will wrap up around 11 a.m.
