Storms Thursday Night- Friday

We are tracking another wave of low pressure in Oklahoma which will move to the northeast and send a warm front through Mid-Missouri Thursday night and Friday. As the front gets closer, a few storms are possible by early evening at the Lake of the Ozarks. Most storms will develop late in the evening and overnight as a low level jet stream interacts with the warm front as it moves north.

Showers & storms are expected to increase and move northeast through Friday morning and into northeastern Missouri by mid-morning. Storms are not expected to be severe but a few could produce heavy rainfall. Late in the afternoon and through the evening. spotty storms are possible near or just north of I-70. These will end with the loss of daytime heating in the evening hours with drier weather overnight Friday.

Rainfall amounts of a half inch to an inch are possible across much of Mid-Missouri from Thursday through Friday evening with pockets of 1.50″ possible. Lower amounts of a quarter to a half inch are expected at the Lake of the Ozarks and northwestern Missouri.
