Columbia Police releases results of DWI enforcement

The Columbia Police Department has released the results of a sobriety checkpoint over the holiday weekend.

CPD, Boone County deputies, and MUPD officers held a sobriety checkpoint on Friday night from 10:30 p.m. through 2:30 a.m. at Big Bear and Providence Road.

351 drivers were stopped at the checkpoint over a 4 hour period.

The following arrests were made:

4 for DWI
4 for driving while suspended or revoked
2 for endangering the welfare of a child
1 for possession of a firearm by a felon
1 possession of certain prohibited weapons
3 for not having a license
1 for possession of drug paraphernalia
3 for possession of a controlled substance
3 for outstanding warrants

Three additional arrests were made for DWI on July 4 during saturation patrols.
