Severe storms bring damaging wind Thursday evening

A cluster of storms moving in from northwest Missouri Thursday evening traveled along HWY 24, bringing 60-70 mph wind gusts and widespread wind damage. At the same time, storms strengthened in Saline Co producing strong wind, large hail and heavy rain as they slowly spread to the east, dumping 1-3 inches of rain with locally 4″ near Marshall.

Here are the storm reports received Thursday evening.

6:19 PM: 1.25″ Hail near Sumner, 6:27 PM: Wind Damage 5 mi E Brunswick, 6:30 PM: Wind Damage Marceline, 7:15 PM: 60 mph Winds Marshall, 7:15 PM: 1″ Hail 5 mi W Madison, 7:22 PM: Wind Damage Madison, 7:32 PM: Wind Damage Paris, 7:55 PM: Wind Damage near Mexico and Laddonia, 8:10 PM: Wind Damage Wellsville, 8:15 PM: Wind Damage near Vandalia and Middletown, 8:22 PM: Wind Damage near Fulton.
