JC cell phone repair shop owner charged with having child porn, invasion of privacy

A Jefferson City cell phone repair shop owner is charged in Cole County after apparently stealing photos from customers’ phones.

32-year-old Guadalupe Villegas Carrera is charged with possession of child pornography and felony invasion of privacy after apparently taking and sharing photos of several women.

Last week, ABC 17 News reported a victim had taken her cell phone to iRepair in Jefferson City for a routine repair.

Villegas Carrera allegedly sent photos of the woman to a group of people without her consent, and investigators were working to identify about 15 victims.

The Jefferson City store is not affiliated with Columbia iRepair.
