Heat continues until the weekend

An upper level ridge has kept Mid-Missouri hot and humid since the weekend. This ridge will stay in place Wednesday before it begins to weaken and move eastward Thursday. Then an upper level trough will move over the Midwest and bring relief from the heat.

High temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday will reach the low 90s with heat indices near 100 during the afternoon. If you have outdoor plans remember to take breaks from the heat and to stay hydrated. Then Friday temperatures will fall into the low to mid 80s as the trough moves into Mid-Missouri. The heat and humidity will stay down through the weekend before the trough moves off to the east early next week.
