Storm chances Monday night

A cold front will move south into Mid-Missouri late Monday night and through the overnight hours. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along the front as it pushes into Mid-Missouri. Rain is not expected to be widespread, but isolated storms will be possible through the overnight hours.The best chance of storms will be from 10pm-3am and north of I-70.

The atmosphere is set to already be unstable Monday evening as the storms move in. All of Mid-Missouri is under a marginal risk of severe weather, but a slight risk exists for those areas north of I-70. Any storms that do move into northern Mid-Missouri have the potential of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph or large hail.
