Man who admitted to killing, dismembering Pettis Co. woman dies in hospital

A Sedalia man who pleaded guilty to a January 2014 murder died in a Columbia hospital over the weekend.

Joseph Arbeiter admitted to killing and dismembering Mandy Black in January 2014.

Black’s remains were found in a trailer Arbeiter previously lived in in April 2014.

Arbeiter was sentenced to life in prison, and was serving his sentence at Crossroads Correctional Center in Cameron, Mo.

According to the Department of Corrections, Arbeiter died of natural causes at University Hospital on Saturday.
