One in custody, two on the run after burglary and high speed chase in Columbia

One person is in custody and two others are on the loose following a Columbia burglary and high speed chase.

Police arrested Luster Jordan Jr, 22, from Malden, MO. Jordan was arrested on charges of burglary and resisting arrest. Investigators say he was the driver of the vehicle that officers were chasing in the 1700 block of Hanover Boulevard. Police say once they caught up to him he implicated himself in the burglary.

Columbia Police were searching on Hanover Blvd. for shell casings after a burglary was reported before 5:00 Wednesday afternoon.

A security alarm went off in the residents’ home that was being burglarized, alerting the police and the residents.

When the residents returned home, the suspects pointed guns at them and fired shots before fleeing the area.

The victims were able to identify the suspect vehicle, and officers found a car matching the description near Clark Lane and Olympic Blvd. When officers tried to stop the car, it sped off, leading them on a chase.

While officers were searching for shell casings, the suspect vehicle sped down the street, traveling at up to 100 mph.
