Man sent to hospital after attempted armed robbery in Columbia

Sunday, police are investigating an armed robbery in downtown Columbia.

It happened shortly before 3:00 a.m. Saturday in the 400 Block of North Tenth Street, according to Columbia police.

Three men pointed a gun and demanded money from a man at the intersection of Tenth and Rogers Streets. The victim grabbed the gun, but then was attacked by all three men who then ran away without taking any property, police said.

Emergency crews took the victim to the hospital for a head injury.
