Rainfall Totals

The month of May has been a wet one with multiple rainfall events boosting rainfall totals for Columbia. The Columbia regional airport has now seen 5.28 inches of rainfall during May, which is just above the average value of 4.67 inches.

Despite the recent rainfall we are still below average for our yearly totals. The average rainfall total by this time in the year is 16.24 inches. We have only picked up 12.46 inches since January. This gives us a deficit of 3.78 inches for the year, although the storm season isn’t over so more heavy rainfall is still possible.
