Dry Memorial Day, unsettled next week.

We will get a break from the rain Memorial Day but rain returns Monday night. The upper level wave which brought the rain Sunday will be east of Mid-Missouri by Monday morning, leaving us with stable air through much of the day. The first half of the day Monday looks dry and warm but an isolated shower or t-storm can’t be ruled out in the afternoon.

Another upper wave (one of many) will move in from the southwest Monday night, increasing our chance of showers and t-storms after 9 PM Monday through Tuesday. These impulses in the atmosphere will continue to track through the area, giving us a chance of rain each day through next weekend.

Warm, moist air will be carried in with southerly winds through Saturday before drier, slightly cooler air moves in late Sunday. Rainfall amounts of an inch and a half in northern Missouri to 4 inches south of I-70 are possible for the period from Monday through Sunday.
