Holts Summit man killed in crash, man charged

Highway Patrol troopers say one man is dead after a car crash in Maries County.

It happened Tuesday night on Highway 63 at Vichy.

Investigators say Keith Jones, 50, from Jefferson City crossed the center link and went off the roadway. He allegedly hit a car driven by David Connor, 79, of Holts Summit. Troopers say Connor was pulled over, trying to avoid Jones.

Connor was killed in the crash and Jones was flown to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.

Jones is charged with drug possession, DWI, and careless driving.
