Mid-Missouri man to appear in court for early voter fraud

A Mid-Missouri suspect is due back in court next week after being accused of forging names on a ballot petition for early voting.

Earlier this year, investigators got a call from the Secretary of State, who said about 1,000 signatures didn’t match up.

They were collected in Columbia and Boone County between March and April of this year.

Officials believe Kevin Hayes is responsible for more than 360 of those.

A company known as Buzzard Bay paid out bonuses for providing extra signatures.

Hayes is still in jail.
