Anti-bullying bill would force staff to report earlier

A bill going through the state Capitol would increase rules for school bullies.

It would force staff to report abuse within 2 days, and then the school gets one day to investigate the claim.

At the minimum, students who have bullied their peers would have to get counseling.

Districts also need new policies on preventing suicides.

The bill needs just one more vote before it goes to Governor Nixon for his signature.
