Jefferson City Police hiring four new officers
The Jefferson City Police Department is bringing on four new officers.
The city’s personnel board met Thursday afternoon to announce there are four police officer openings, as well as one opening for a communication operator.
There are currently 8 candidates up for the positions.
We were at the announcement and talked to officials about the hiring process for these employees.
“We had written testing for both communications and police officers. The next step in the process is the oral interview. People selected to go on after the oral interview underwent a polygraph test. The next step is the background investigation, which we’re doing now,” said Lt. Jeff Stiefeman, Officer of Professional Standards.
Two of the candidates for police just recently graduated from the police academy.
