Columbia man arrested for burglary, firearm warrants

A Columbia man was arrested Wednesday night on multiple outstanding warrants.

Officers saw a man matching the description of Darian Carter in the 2600 block of Jacobs Place.

Carter was arrested for a felony warrant out of Jefferson City for burglary and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Carter also had a warrant from March in Boone County for unlawful possession of a firearm and receiving stolen property.

On March 31, officers responded to Currituck and Greensboro in Columbia for a disturbance.

Before a fight between Carter and another man, Carter took a handgun from his waistband and loaded a round into the chamber. Carter left the gun in the passenger seat of a car, and when officers arrived they determined it to be stolen.

Carter fled the scene before police arrived.
