Teen arrested for armed robbery at Budget Inn motel
Tuesday night before 10 p.m. police arrested Deron Todd, 17, from Columbia, on suspicion of armed criminal action and robbery in the first degree.
Todd was picked up at 2904 Range Line Street.
The armed robbery took placed Sunday at 12:26 p.m. at 900 Vandiver Drive. The victims reported Todd was in their hotel room, pointed a gun at them and stole their laptop, computer chargers, cellphone with its charger and a case for the laptop .
An officer located Todd near the Budget Host Inn and chased him, but he got away. An officer found several items Todd dropped when running off that included a cellphone, laptop, the charger for the laptop and case.
No on was injured during the robbery. The victims and Todd know each other according to police.
