Sam’s Club now hiring in Jefferson City

Sam’s Club in Jefferson City is now hiring employees to fill about 170 jobs.

It’s not scheduled to open until late summer of 2015.

The company is also opening its doors for members of the community to sign up for Sam’s Club memberships.

The ribbon cutting was held on Missouri Boulevard at the Sam’s Club hiring center.

Local businesses, chamber members, and future employees were at the ceremony.

The manager of the store, Jeremy Jones, said the store will be hiring for several different positions.

“Those include cashiers and cake decorators and all the way to overnight stock employees and meat department associates,” said Jones.

Jones said he started with Sam’s Club 7 years ago as what he calls “a cart boy” and now he’ll be managing the Jefferson City club.

“So, I’ve got to witness what advancements are in Sam’s Club,” Jones said.

Jeremy Jones told ABC 17 the people Sam’s Club will be hiring are not only limited to people in the Jefferson City area, but people anywhere who want to be a part of the business.

“I have a receiving associate who drove from Eugene to Columbia for 25 years. So, we are glad to have anybody who is excited to be a part of the team.”

One of the main reasons Sam’s decided to build a club in Jefferson City was due to the high volume of members at the Columbia store from Jefferson City.
