Inmates getting treated for scabies near Mexico, Mo.
Almost 70 prisoners in Mid-Missouri are getting treated for scabies.
On Friday, ABC 17 News confirmed three inmates have tested positive at the state women’s facility in Vandalia, about 30 minutes northeast of Mexico, Mo.
As a precaution, 66 other people are also undergoing treatment for the contagious skin mite.
Officials are watching anyone else who might have had contact with someone in that wing, which has since been sanitized.
Visiting hours have not been restricted.
