Mokane woman charged with murder after she’s accused of a fatal drunk driving accident

Lori Connor was charged for a class A felony on Wednesday in Callaway County.

Chad Fleischmann was killed in the accident and another man was seriously injured.

The assistant prosecuting attorney, Casey Clevenger, said the reason it has taken so long to charge Connor is because there were a lot of medical reports they were waiting for.

“The case involves a lot of medical records, reconstruction reports, autopsy reports. So, it took some time to get everything together and to get everything reviewed,” said Clevenger.

Clevenger is handling the case against Connor.

The Highway Patrol’s report says Connor crashed into and killed Chad Fleischman and injured the passenger in his car. According to witnesses, Connor was seen driving erratically before the crash.

Police also said they noticed a “moderate odor of alcohol” when they were near Connor.

She was then arrested for DWI.

There also was never a blood sample taken from Connor. This raised the question, could that effect the case against Connor.

“There’s nothing in the law that requires that a blood alcohol level be submitted to prove someone was intoxicated. There are other tools and ways that are available to prove someone is intoxicated other than a blood alcohol level,” said Clevenger.

Connor is set to be arraigned Friday afternoon at one-thirty.
