Traffic restricted on Texas Ave. during water project

Columbia Water and Light will be replacing a 6″ water line on Texas Avenue from Garth to Creasy Springs Road starting Monday.

The water main has been experiencing breaks and the existing pipe will be replaced with an 8″ and 12″ water main.

The upgraded water line will increase the amount of water that is available for consumers and fire crews.

The water project is being done in conjunction with street work and is expected to be completed in the fall.

There will be times where there are traffic lane restrictions or partial closures.
