Two disturbances bring chances of rain & snow

The upper level winds have shifted to the northwest and will carry two fast moving disturbances through Missouri Thursday night and Friday night. Forecast models bring light rain & snow into parts of Mid-Missouri with these but the fast movement and small coverage will result in only minor precipitation amounts.

The first is expected to track into the area Thursday night bringing light rain as early as midnight to our northwestern counties, heading south-southeast through early Friday morning, ending at the Lake of the Ozarks by 9 AM. The best chance of precipitation is west of HWY 63. The air aloft is cold enough which will allow some snow to mix in but no accumulation is expected.

The second disturbance moves through Friday night into Saturday morning. This will also bring a narrow band of rain & snow starting after midnight northwest and ending by mid-morning Saturday. The best chance of precipitation is west of HWY 63. A dusting of snow on grassy surfaces is possible by early Saturday morning.
