Cole Co. commissioner talks agreement with JC chamber, upcoming projects

ABC 17 News sat down with a member of the Cole County Commission Thursday to discuss upcoming projects on the county’s agenda.

Commissioner Jeff Hoelscher discussed the county’s $150,000 economic development agreement with the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce.

Last year, there was a lot of debate over this as there was some concern that the Chamber wasn’t doing enough for the county.

Hoelscher said he thinks the Chamber will sign the agreement, but doesn’t know if it will be a 6 month or 1 year contract.

Hoelscher also talked about the county EMS expansion project. The project is finished and has been working well for the county, and Hoelscher said the employees are happy with the changes.

The county will also benefit from Senate Bill 222, which would change the reimbursement process for offenders that are eventually sent to the Department of Corrections.
