Second suspect in chase, crash arrested

Police have made another arrest in connection with a chase and crash in south Columbia last week. Jamie Chick, 30, was arrested Sunday evening on suspicion of resisting arrest, domestic assault, driving without a license and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.

On Wednesday, March 11, a Boone County sheriff’s deputy reported seeing the driver of the suspect vehicle, believed to be Chick, commit several traffic violations. This happened in the area of Crestwood Lane and Forum Boulevard. When the deputy tried to stop the driver, the chase began.

The chase ended when the suspect vehicle hit a curb in the cul-de-sac of Sedona Villas Drive. Both the driver and front seat passenger got out and ran; the passenger in the back seat stayed in the car.

The front seat passenger, Joseph Dodson, was found and arrested a short time later. He faces charges of resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The rear seat passenger was questioned and released.
