Jefferson City Council to read bill on demolition of three homes for road project

The Jefferson City Council Monday night is scheduled to read a bill that would authorize a contract with a debris removal company to demolish 3 houses in conflict with an ongoing road project.

The bill would authorize a contract with B&N Tree Service and Debris Removal to knock down 1303, 1304, and 1309 Monroe St., which are in the way of designed improvements for the Stadium, Monroe, and Christy Drive road project.

That project is the first phase of the Highway 54 and Stadium Dr. interchange project.

The projects are aimed at improving safety on Highway 54 and provide more access to Capital Region Medical Center.

The contract is worth $27,715.
