Jimmy John’s in Jefferson City hands out nearly 150 sandwiches to law enforcement, first responders

A fast food restaurant in Jefferson City apologized after an employee put an offensive message on a deputy’s receipt.

It happened last at the Jimmy John’s on East High Street.

An employee typed the words “Stupid Pig” at the bottom of a receipt for a delivery order to a Cole County Sheriff’s Department Deputy.

The receipt was uploaded to Facebook by another deputy of the department and got hundreds of shares and comments.

Abc 17 News reached out to the owner of that Jimmy John’s store, Kyle Raymer, who apologized on Facebook and said the worker’s employment will be handled accordingly.

“I spoke with the customer first thing Friday morning and we spoke about it and we took care of the issue, and she knows herself I don’t view them that way and most of my employees don’t,” Raymer said. “We just want to show our appreciation for them and let them know that is not our opinion of any of the stuff they do, I mean they make our community what it is.”

Both Jimmy John’s locations in Jefferson City offered free sandwiches to law enforcement and other first responders through Tuesday.

Both locations handed out about 150 sandwiches.
