Former teller pleads not guilty to embezzling from Jefferson City bank

A former Jefferson City bank teller pleaded not guilty Monday to stealing thousands of dollars from Hawthorn bank.

28-year-old Katherine Brown wasindictedlast month for embezzling $410,000 from Hawthorn Bank.

Brown allegedly took the money between December 2012 and September 2014.

Brown apparently took the money from the bank vault for her personal use.

The case is being prosecuted by an assistant U.S. attorney and was investigated by the FBI.

Brown is currently out on bond.

Her trial is scheduled for May 4.
