Winter storm Saturday-Sunday
Snow is expected to develop from western Missouri Saturday afternoon and spread east into the overnight hours, becoming steady over all of Mid-Missouri from 10 pm Saturday through 7 am Sunday. Most snow accumulation comes in the overnight hours before becoming much lighter Sunday morning. Total snow accumulation of 2-4″ are likely with pockets of 4-6″ possible near and north of I-70. Snow amounts of 1-3″ are expected from I-44 to the Lake of the Ozarks.
Light snow showers are possible Saturday afternoon west of HWY 63 but little to no accumulation is expected through 6 p.m. Snow will increase after 6 p.m. and become likely as it spreads east. Snow will accumulate with temperatures in the 20s Saturday night through Sunday morning.
Warmer air will lift north to the Lake of the Ozarks by daybreak Sunday with snow turning to rain as surface temperatures are still below freezing. A glaze of ice is possible before temperatures warm above freezing from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday in areas south of HWY 50.
