Woman wanted for shooting husband 7 times

Officials in eastern Missouri are waiting for a 27 year-old woman to turn herself in, after claiming she shot her husband in self defense.

The Warren County Sheriff confirmed on Thursday Ashley Hunter is not in custody. Nicholas Hunter, 29, was found dead on the living room floor a week ago inside their home on Old Cotton Road in Foristell.

Hunter called 911 last Thursday, saying she was in a physical struggle with her husband and shot him in the chest. Deputies later found out he had been shot seven times.

Evidence taken from Ashley Hunter, her husband, and other details from the crime scene did not match her story, which lead to the charges.
