Weather pattern change brings warmer weather by late-week

We will get a break from the cold air and thaw out as we head into the second half of January. High temperatures will stay in the 20s Tuesday and only reach near 30 Wednesday as clouds and snow flurries move through. Clouds will clear out Wednesday night and a southwesterly breeze will start to bring temperatures up Thursday as we reach near 40.

Mild air sticks around through the weekend as the jet stream retreats to the north and westerly winds aloft carry in air from the Pacific ocean. We will stay dry through the weekend but the weather looks unsettled next week as waves of low pressure quickly move in from the west.
