Another surge of arctic air Wednesday

Another surge of arctic air moves in Tuesday night as a wave of low pressure is carried in with northwesterly winds aloft. This wave will produce snow flurries or brief light snow but no accumulation is expected Tuesday night.

Winds will increase to 15-20 mph after midnight Tuesday gusting to near 30 mph Wednesday morning. The wind, coupled with temperatures in the single digits will produce dangerously cold wind chills of 15 to 20 below zero. With wind chills at 15 below zero, frostbite can occur on exposed skin within 30 minutes.

Temperatures will stay in the single digits Wednesday, dropping to zero to 4 below zero early Thursday morning.
