Columbia police issue citation to man for shooting a gun within city limits

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department was called to a report of shots fired in the 4000 block of Orchard Lane at 12:43 a.m.

Officers learned that there had been a physical disturbance between two men. After investigating, police were able to locate shell casings. Officials say the intended target did not suffer any injuries.

The 19-year-old suspect was located and given a citation for discharging a firearm inside the city limits.

There were no arrests made in this case as there are no witnesses that saw the firearm being fired and officers were not able to locate any property damage.
