Man killed while closing cattle gate in Callaway Co.

A man was killed Wednesday northeast of Jefferson City after a truck started rolling backwards off County Road 485.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports Paul Ferguson, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene, near a field at 10950 County Road 485, about 15 minutes north of Tebbetts.

No one was inside the truck at the time. It was stopped on the side of County Road 485 when it rolled into a field entrance, hitting Ferguson as he was closing a cattle gate.
