Longtime Randolph Co. Commissioner retiring

Longtime Randolph County Presiding Commissioner Susan Carter is entering retirement.

Carter was elected in 2006 and was re-elected in 2010, serving two terms in the position.

ABC 17 stopped by her retirement reception Tuesday in Huntsville.

Carter shared some of her most treasured accomplishments.

“Small things like direct deposit for our employees, signage for our new justice center. It’s been the most wonderful experience and I’m so happy to have been a part of it,” said Carter.

Carter also worked for CBS News for 25 years, including on programs like “60 Minutes.”
